Severe flooding caused chaos across West Africa. Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso's capital, was hit by its heaviest rainfall in 90 years.
UN agencies report more than 150,000 people have been affected by the flooding and forced to leave their homes. A ShelterBox Response Team is traveled to the region to assess the need for ShelterBoxes.
ShelterBox sent aid for up to 5,000 people which was able to reach Burkina Faso thanks to incredible work by ShelterBox warehouse staff and volunteers as well as Newquay Cornwall Airport. With funding from the governement of Luxembourg, the UN chartered a plane which flew 500 ShelterBox tents out of Newquay Cornwall Airport to Ougadougou.
