Flooding and volcanic activity

Heavy rain at the end of April 2005 caused the River Tamis to burst its banks and flood large areas of northern Serbia.

The rain also triggered a number of landslides and a state of emergency was declared in five Serbian provinces. The Red Cross reported that more than 300 homes were destroyed and - following a request from the Rotary Club of Zrenjanin - ShelterBox sent 30 boxes to assist those families made homeless.
