Flooding and volcanic activity

In early 2007 Bolivia was hit by the worst floods in a quarter of a century. Months of extreme weather led to substantial areas of the landlocked country’s Amazonian region being left underwater.
About 350,000 people were forced from their land and an estimated 900,000 acres of crops destroyed.

Two ShelterBox Response Teams were sent to Bolivia and the charity worked in partnership with Oxfam, The Samaritans and Rotary International to set up a camp in Trinidad for displaced families. Further tents were also sent to affected communities in other areas.
