ShelterBox USA voted top charity, receives proceeds from Steve Aoki Charitable Fund
After announcing the launch of his initiative, “The Steve Aoki Charitable Fund,” Steve Aoki is proud to award all collected proceeds from his recent sold-out birthday bash at the Shrine in Los Angeles, auctioned memorabilia and matched personal contribution to ShelterBox USA.
Aoki has pledged to personally match funds up to $35,000, $1,000 for every year in Aoki’s age. In addition, Pro Poker player Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari adds to the holiday spirit with a generous donation to ShelterBox USA.
“I’ve been saving up all my tour clothes, shoes, jeans, shirts, whatever has survived my insane tour schedule and will be auctioning off all these clothes where all the money raised will go toward the Steve Aoki Charitable Fund,” said Aoki.
The humanitarian mission solidifies Aoki’s determination to take matters into his own hands by combining fandom, fun and philanthropy.
ShelterBox USA, an international nonprofit organization committed to providing humanitarian relief and dignity to people made homeless by natural and other disasters, was the leading charity voted by fans via the Steve Aoki Charitable Fund site.
Through this charitable initiative, Aoki uses his global influence to raise money for relief organizations dealing with these issues through money raised at his own touring events, memorabilia auctions and partnerships with likeminded artists.
