International Volunteer Day
Box packers, ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) members, speakers, ambassadors, fundraisers, warehouse tour guides, board members, translators, drivers, administration and technology support.
What do all of these roles have in common?
They are all roles that are done by our global network of volunteers who constantly go that extra mile to help make a difference for families affected by disasters. Thank you all for your ongoing passion, commitment and dedication. You have been vital in supporting ShelterBox to help hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
Here's a video snapshot of one of our volunteers, Eric DeLuca (US). He became an SRT member in June 2006 after undergoing nine days of intensive training. Since then he has deployed three times, firstly to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2009 and then to Haiti in 2010 and 2011. Watch the video below:
