Since 2000, ShelterBox has helped nearly 3 million people by providing emergency shelter following more than 300 disasters in nearly 100 countries.

ShelterBox responds urgently to earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, cyclones, tsunamis, or conflict situations by delivering emergency shelter and other aid, including blankets, water filters and carriers, solar lights, and other essential survival tools.

ShelterBox is an official Project Partner of Rotary International. ShelterBox USA is based in Santa Barbara, California.

Kerri Murray, ShelterBox USA President

Kerri Murray serves as President of the global disaster relief charity ShelterBox USA. Kerri has worked since 2009 in disaster relief, often serving on the front lines of disaster and conflict situations, assisting in relief efforts, and seeing first-hand how displaced people benefit from ShelterBox’s life-saving aid. Under her leadership, ShelterBox was twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, earned a 100 percent ranking on Charity Navigator, and was lauded as a charity worthy of a donation by the Financial Times of London.  Kerri received the Martin Luther King Jr. Vision Award from Providence College in February 2024 for her global humanitarian leadership. Before working in nonprofits, she spent 13 years as a pharmaceutical executive for GlaxoSmithKline. Kerri is a proud member of the Montecito Rotary Club and served for six years as Board President for GIRLS ROCK Santa Barbara.

Based in Santa Barbara, CA, Shelter USA has provided shelter, warmth, and dignity as it responds urgently to earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, and other world emergencies for 25 years, more than 300 emergencies, 107 Countries, and almost three million people.
