Patrick Eakes
Patrick Eakes is the Director for Rotary Zones 33/34 for the term 2024-26. He has been a dedicated Rotarian since joining the Crescent Rotary Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1998. Patrick served as Governor of District 7690 (central NC, USA) in 2014-15. He has held various positions within Rotary, including Zone 33 Rotary Coordinator, Innovative Club Advocate, and Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator. Patrick has received several prestigious awards, including the Service Above Self Award, Distinguished Service Award, and Citation for Meritorious Service.
René Amy
René Amy is a dedicated volunteer and public-interest activist based in Altadena, California. A member of the Altadena Rotary club since 2018, he soon after became a ShelterBox Ambassador, raising funds for disaster relief worldwide. His commitment to ShelterBox has earned him the United States President’s Volunteer Service Award. René is also known for his activism in local politics, advocating for transparency and good governance. Despite losing his home in the Eaton fire, René continues to support his community and those in need and was instrumental in launching the ShelterBox response to those displaced by the Eaton fire.
Albert Hernandez
Albert Hernandez is the District Governor for Rotary District 5280, covering Greater Los Angeles County. His Rotary journey began at 16 when he attended RYLA, sparking a lifelong passion for service. At 19, he joined the Rotary Club of Burbank. He quickly immersed himself in Rotary activities, launching the Shop with a Cop Program as the club’s Youth Service Chair. Albert was Club President in 2018 and is the youngest District Governor in Rotary District 5280’s history. Beyond Rotary, Albert serves as the CEO of Home Again LA, a leading homeless services agency. His leadership has transformed countless lives, providing shelter, housing support, and long-term stability to families facing homelessness. Albert’s dedication to humanitarian work has left a lasting impact on both local and global communities.
Alex R. "Alpo" Portelli
Alex R. “Alpo” Portelli is the District Governor-Elect (DGE) for Rotary District 7670, which includes Asheville, North Carolina. He joined the Rotary Club of Marion, North Carolina, in 2015 after a distinguished 31-year career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel Alex is deeply committed to community service and has been actively involved in various initiatives, including serving as the chair of his county’s local food advisory council and participating in the Rotary Zones 33-34 Hunger Challenge. His leadership and dedication to service have made a significant impact on his community, particularly in addressing food insecurity. His passion for service and leadership inspires those around him.
