Ana

She is tough. She is a friend. She is still upbeat.

She is resilient

Ana’s home was one of the 20,000 destroyed in Mozambique by Cyclone Dineo. Torrential rains and powerful winds left 130,000 people in need of assistance.

Ana said: ‘My house was completely flattened by Dineo.’

Ana and her four friends, all widows, left at first light to reach the distribution center where our teams were giving out aid.

At the center, Ana and her friends were able to get vital supplies in order to care for their children.

The women knew they would be able to get help from their community to repair their damaged homes, and that the tools would be useful for everyone.

This aid will mean people can rebuild their lives and livelihoods and protect themselves from the harsh weather.

This equipment will help me make the shelter stronger and better.
